Kt started back at school this morning.
Uni and I both took her and she met her teacher and handled it all very well.
She has her own desk to sit at and has many of her friends from prep A sitting near her so I think she will be fine.
The first day is always good though ... we expect the worst and it turns out really well.
Time will tell how she reacts as the weeks go by, but she is more confident now and she knows the school routine and knows a lot of kids etc.
Also the older she gets the more the teachers will encourage independence etc and especially in this class where there are grade 1 and 2 kids.
She kept saying she had a fantastic day and can't wait to go back so I will keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
I have tears very close to the surface at the moment and suspect that this year I may be more emotional about it all than she is ... of course pregnancy doesn't help with your emotional stability ... but there is something to be said for having a baby in your belly to distract you with a kick or a wriggle.
I didn't think I would be able to fall asleep at all last night but as soon as I lie down to rest Mr bump makes his presence felt (ooooh and again just now ... he knows I am talking about him LOL!)and I can focus on how it feels and how he is growing and that relaxes me and I am asleep in no time (once he stops moving of course).
Last year and also at the start of kindy I spent the first weeks feeling like I had a big hole in my belly ... but its hard to feel that way when your belly is big and round ... and kicking LOL!!!
I have had a couple of sniffles the last few weeks and although they seem to have turned out to only be allergic reactions I haven't been sure if I am well or not.
Uniis actually sick at the moment and when I started sneezing violently yesterday ... I was sure I was sick too ... but I am feeling better today. I really didn't need it yesterday because I had so many school preparations left to do like school lunches, putting contact on books, labelling things etc ... and of course every time I sneezed or blew my nose I would have to go and wash my hands and make sure I wasn't contaminating anything.
I have been taking it easy and trying to get plenty of rest so I think that has helped.
I feel very slow and plodding these days compared to the old me ... but I am getting things done ... more slowly ... but still done and I don't necessarily think it is a bad thing.
The old me tried to do a million things at once, got stressed, got angry and was always zipping around.
Perhaps this slow approach is what I need to get me through the next few years ... now that I know what having a baby is all about and realizing that the old way really wasn't working for me.
Or perhaps it is the influence of the baby bull inside me???? LOL!!!
Yesterday I finished the photolog and went back and did captions and double checked the contents to make sure all the pictures were upright (not sideways) and didn't have too much personal information in them.
I was having a great deal of difficulty positioning the captions and then discovered that all I needed to do was put the caption underneath the a>ref thing for the photo I wanted it to appear beside. The preview thing is misleading as it puts it in a different spot in the preview to where it will actually appear when you publish your post. I don't know why this is, as the whole point of a preview is to show you what the finished outcome will be ... but never mind ... I have it figured out now.
I do have a batch of pictures from 2008 that I have rediscovered and I am debating whether to put them on the blog or not.
I probably will ... but I might take a few days break ... there are other things that need my attention.
